Sunderland supporters have been left infuriated after their pre-season fixture with Rangers was postponed due to floodlight failure. The Black Cats were good value for their 1-0 lead at half-time and thee players were returning to the field for the second period when the floodlights went off along with all power inside the stadium.
Darkness descended on the stadium quickly and it was apparent that the second-half would not be able to start without floodlights. The Wearsiders had dominated the first half proceedings with Luke O'Nien putting Neil's side in front just before the half-hour from an Alex Pritchard set-piece.
There was a healthy contingent of Sunderland supporters who made the journey to Portugal and they'll be awaiting news about a possible replay or refund from the fixture. The Black Cats faithful were not pleased on social media after the lights appeared to come back on.
