Sunderland winger Jewison Bennette has become the youngest player ever to feature for Costa Rica at the World Cup.
However, it was a difficult 90 minutes for the 18-year-old and his nation as Spain mercilessly condemned them to a 7-0 defeat.
Bennette was named in the starting line-up but was spared the final 29 minutes plus stoppage time when he was replaced by veteran Bryan Ruiz just past the hour-mark.

Costa Rica were trailing 4-0 when Bennette was withdrawn, and conceded a further three goals in the space of 18 minutes to suffer their heaviest defeat at the World Cup finals.
They looked a shadow of the side that famously topped a group containing Uruguay, Italy and England respectively at the 2014 World Cup.
Costa Rica eliminated Greece on penalties to reach the quarter-final, where they were eventually knocked out by the Netherlands.
Gavi also became the youngest Spain player to feature at the World Cup, as he marked his World Cup debut with a goal.
