Sunderland's Nathan Broadhead earns first Wales senior call-up following his impressive form

Nathan Broadhead has received his first senior call-up for Wales just 48 hours ahead of Sunderland's League One play-off final outing at Wembley. The on-loan Everton striker has been included in boss Rob Page's 27-man squad for their busy June programme, which will see Wales play five matches in 14 days.

Broadhead has represented Wales at U17, U19, U20, and U21 levels, but could now earn his first senior cap in a month which starts with a UEFA Nations League game against Poland in Wroclaw on Wednesday, June 1. They then take part in a World Cup qualifying play-off final against either Scotland or Ukraine at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday, June 5, as Page's men look to reach the World Cup finals for the first time since 1958.

Following the play-off final, they return to Nations League action with a home game against Holland on Wednesday, June 8, with the return match played on Tuesday, June 14. And in between those two games against Holland, Wales will play at home to Belgium on Saturday, June 11.
