Sunderland and Fulham will do battle again in an FA Cup fourth round replay after the sides fought out a 1-1 draw in South West London. The Black Cats took the lead early at Craven Cottage through Jack Clarke, but his goal was cancelled out by Tom Cairney on the hour.
There were multiple chances for both sides to win it, with Patrick Roberts, Amad, and Abdoullah Ba, all going close for Sunderland. At the other end, Andreas Pereira, Harry Wilson, and Willian, all had opportunities.
But Sunderland keeper Anthony Patterson made a string of excellent saves, as did his opposite number Marek Rodak, which meant the sides could not be split on the day. Away from the result and the performance, the big concern for Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray is the injury suffered by star striker Ross Stewart which saw the Scotland international depart on a stretcher midway through the first half - with potentially huge ramifications for the club's play-off hopes.
