Sunderland youngster Jack Diamond's positive start on loan at Lincoln City has been acknowledged after he was nominated for the League One Player of the Month award for September.
Diamond, who joined the Imps on a season long loan deal back in August, has scored four goals in four appearances - including a hat-trick in a 6-3 win over Joey Barton's Bristol Rovers - as he helped Lincoln win two out of their three league matches last month.
The 22-year-old had featured prominently for Sunderland during pre-season, having returned to the club from another successful loan spell at League Two outfit Harrogate Town.

But after making just two appearances for the Black Cats during the opening month of the season, it was decided it was best for Diamond's development that he was moved out on loan again and he has taken to life in League One in impressive fashion.
The City forward is up against Anis Mehmeti (Wycombe Wanderers), Marlon Pack (Portsmouth) and Morgan Whittaker (Plymouth Argyle) to win the award.
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month is Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
The winners of the award will be announced on Friday, October 7.
