Nottingham Forest striker Sam Surridge looks to be on the way out of the club this month as another club register their interest in the player.
The Reds are believed to be willing to let the 24-year-old go out on loan in the January transfer window. Sunderland are 'keen' to bring him in until the end of the season, according to Sky Sports.
It is said that the Black Cats see Surridge as a replacement for Ellis Simms, who was recalled from his loan by Everton. Meanwhile, another one of their strikers in Ross Stewart has been linked with a move away from the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland are not the only club interested in signing Surridge temporarily, with Burnley throwing their hat in the ring. The Lancashire outfit are currently top of the Championship table and manager Vincent Kompany wants to bolster his team's promotion hopes.
Surridge joined Forest from Stoke City last January, netting seven times in the league to help the Reds gain promotion back to the Premier League. However, he has featured in ten top flight games so far this term and is yet to score.
Used as a regular from the bench and mainly as a late impact player, Surridge has often been sent on in the final few minutes of matches. But he would provide a proven goalscorer at that level to the Clarets or Sunderland, who are mounting a promotion push of their own. They currently sit one point outside the top six and qualification for the play-offs.
