Sunderland hopeful of re-signing loan duo Jack Clarke and Nathan Broadhead

Sunderland are said to hopeful of re-signing last season's loan duo of Jack Clarke and Nathan Broadhead this summer. Manager Alex Neil was impressed by what he saw from the pair during the Black Cats successful campaign, culminating in a return to the second tier.

Both have since returned to their respective parent clubs with Sunderland said to have held initial talks about their availability next season. Clarke moved to Premier League side Spurs back in 2019 but is thought to be even further down the pecking order following the signings of Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma so far this month.

It is thought another loan deal could be the way to go given the former Leeds United does have another year left on his current deal in North London. As for Broadhead, new manager Frank Lampard may wish to take a look at the young forward first hand given his strong exploits at the Stadium of Light last season.

The futures of both Dominic Calvert Lewin and Richarlison are also yet to be decided which could influence whether or not the 24-year-old is allowed to leave the Toffee's on loan once again next season.

Having formed a strong partnership with Ross Stewart, Broadhead finished the season with a run of ten goals from his last 14 matches, with Neil known to want to continue letting the pair flourish together in the Championship.
