Sunderland will face a re-run of the 1973 FA Cup final against Leeds United in the fifth round of this season's competition - if they see off Fulham at the second attempt. The Black Cats drew 1-1 with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday in the fourth round, with the sides due to meet again in a replay at the Stadium of Light next week.
And the winners of that tie will take on Premier League Leeds at home in the last 16 of the competition. The fifth round will be played midweek, with the ties to take place the week beginning Monday, February 27.
If Tony Mowbray's men beat Fulham, Leeds will visit the Stadium of Light in the season that marks the 50th anniversary of the Black Cats' famous Wembley triumph when they became the last North-East team to left the trophy. It would be the second time Sunderland have faced Leeds in this competition since 1973, having previously beaten the Yorkshire club 1-0 on Wearside at the third round stage in 2015.

The draw for the fifth round was made live on BBC1 this evening, by ex-Newcastle United and Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas and former Arsenal and England Lionesses defender Alex Scott. Sunderland's FA Cup journey began with a third round win at League One Shrewsbury Town earlier this month, with injury time goals from Ross Stewart and Luke O'Nien earning them a 2-1 victory.
Fulham beat Championship side Hull City 2-0 at the MKM Stadium in the third round, with Layvin Kurzawa and on-loan Leeds winger Dan James on the scoresheet. Leeds beat needed a replay to see off Championship strugglers Cardiff City in the third round, before eventually winning 5-2 at Elland Road, and they won 3-1 at League One Accrington Stanley on Saturday to book their place in the fifth round.
