Sunderland biker James Leonard Meek killed in crash on remote Scotland road

A North East biker has been killed in a crash on a remote Scottish road.

James Leonard Meek, from Sunderland, was pronounced dead at the scene in Moray, near Aberdeen.

James, 27, was riding a blue Yamaha R6 motorcycle when the collision happened on an unclassified road at around 10.30am.

Police Scotland say James's family want to express their "sincere thanks and gratitude" to people who stopped to help at the scene.

Road Policing Sergeant Peter Henderson said, “Our thoughts are with James’ family and friends at this sad time. Enquiries are ongoing and I ask anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to please get in touch. Drivers who may have captured dashcam footage of the vehicle are also being urged to come forward. ”
