Sunderland 'agree deal' for Birmingham City youngster Jobe Bellingham

Sunderland are reportedly closing in on their next summer target after agreeing a deal with Birmingham City for Jobe Bellingham. That's according to the Northern Echo who claim the Black Cats are about to wrap up the signing of the highly rated midfielder.

Reports earlier this month claimed the deal was on the rocks with the Wearsiders and the Blues locking heads over the transfer fee. A £3million fee is believed to be the price Birmingham are asking for this summer.

The 17-year-old made 22 appearances for John Eustace's side last season and has been tipped to reach the very top. Jobe's older brother Jude is closing in on a move to Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund this summer and Sunderland sporting director Kristjaan Speakman, Academy coaches Mike Dodds and Stuart England are all credited with playing their part in both their developments.

Speakman is said to have a good relationship with the Bellingham family and Jobe was in attendance at the Stadium of Light for their 2-1 win over Luton Town in the play-off semi-final first leg.
