Horse racing tips and best bets from Ripon, Stratford, Naas and Killarney

Our man Garry Owen has picked out his tips on a busy day of racing action.

Don't forget to follow LIVE horse racing blog every Saturday for all the big action.

SANDBECK (4:10) can leave her rivals in the dust for Ed Bethell in the Premier Handicap at Ripon. The filly showed a willing attitude to deny Crush And Run on her recent comeback at Nottingham. The three-year-old looks open to plenty of progress so she can strike again back over six furlongs.

Nigel Tinkler’s HIGH SECURITY (2:10) rates the safest option in the apprentices’ handicap. The four-year-old put in another decent shift when a close third to Elegant Erin at Beverley. The sprinter still lurks on an attractive mark so he can resume winning ways dropped in class.

GULMARG (2:40) can soar for thriving handler Steve Woods in the novices’ contest. The juvenile can triumph with a repeat of his cracking second to Yahsat on debut at Pontefract.

FRANZ (3:10) is the name to remember in the trappy Goodbyeflys Championship Handicap. Kevin Ryan’s charge was unlucky to encounter the progressive Nicholas George at Redcar. The colt is nicely unexposed over 1m 2f so he can gain compensation on the faster surface.

BENADALID (3:40) can bag his fifth win at the Yorkshire venue for shrewd Charlie Fairhurst. The gelding returned to form when second to the upwardly mobile Matchless at Doncaster.

That race is working out well so this tough type can go one better back at his favourite track.

MISS BRITAIN (5:10) makes plenty of appeal in the closing Racing Welfare Handicap. Gemma Tutty’s sprinter looked better than ever when a close third to Gnat Alley at Thirsk.

The filly stayed six furlongs well that day so she can open her account for her skilled trainer.

GLENGEEVER (1:52) can shade a fascinating maiden hurdle at Stratford for Ben Lund. The grey improved again when giving Harper's Brook most resistance over 2m 4f at Ffos Las. The gelding was doing all his best work late so he can go one better over an extra two furlongs.

Joe Tizzard remains in peak form so I’m on PRINCESS MIDNIGHT (2:22) in the mares’ chase. The eight-year-old was an eye-catching third behind Hors Guard on her comeback at Worcester.

The daughter of Midnight Legend should be primed so she can score under Sam Twiston-Davies.
