You can't beat a good old fashioned Sunday roast with all the trimmings.
Whether you're after a catch up with your pals and loved ones or are in need of some nourishment after a big night out, this is the one meal of the week we all look forward to.
And what better way to enjoy it than get someone else to make it for you (and get out the house for a cheeky curer at the same time).
We've pulled together a list of 11 places in Glasgow you'll find a rip roaring roast which has had rave reviews, featuring classic choices, modern twists, and vegan and veggie options.

1. The Drake

The Drake oozes style and comfort - and they know to put on a good Sunday roast.
Located on the edge of the west end, just a stone’s throw from Charing Cross and the city centre, it's a popular place to grab a cosy seat by the fire when winter rolls around - or outside in the garden, when it becomes a prime spot for people watching during summer.
Sundays are even more special at the Lynedoch Street gastro pub, which prides itself on its quality but affordable grub. Served every week from when the kitchen opens until the roasts run out, there's loads to choose from.
The Sunday roast will set you back £14 for chicken and £15 for beef, while starters cost around £6.50 each. Usual fare is also on offer including curried chickpeas with poached egg and the famous Drake burger, if you fancy something diferent.
It's also pooch and family friendly, so you can take everyone along and enjoy a lazy end of week get together with all your nearest and dearest.
2. Public House by Nico
It's the newbie on the block, but don't let that fool you, we've heard the Sunday roasts in here are worth the week-long wait.
Chef Nico's most recent west end venture has been serving up some rave reviews since it opened on Great Western Road. Boasting all the charm of the 'great British pub', it features stunning Chesterfield seating and reclaimed wood fixtures, meaning a rustic home from home to enjoy your lunch.

Using seasonal ingredients they serve up a selection of British classics, including fish and chips and, of course, the humble Sunday roast.
Two courses will cost you £17 while three will set you back £20.
You can choose from a range of starters including soup and haggis Scotch eggs while roasts come in the shape of Bone in Ayrshire Pork Chops, Roast Speyside Sirloin and Salt Baked Celeriac - all served up with Yorkshire puddings.
3. The Spanish Butcher
If a fancy European version of the classic roast gets you excited, this is the place for you.
Bringing a taste of the Med to the Merchant City, you're always treated to a host of flavours and aromas as you walk into the Spanish Butcher. With the restaurant styled like a chic New York loft, you'll feel super cool as you enjoy the food on offer from these Galician beef specialists.
A Sunday roast menu is available at £16 for one person, £19 for two.

And if you fancy sharing a 35-day dry-aged roast rump with a pal or loved one, it'll cost £42, and that includes starters.
Choose from Pickled beetroot, Jamon Iberico croquettes to start, or roast sirloin of beef and rump of lamb for mains. And the trimmings include a mouth-watering mix of charred red onion, paprika, cauliflower, red peppers and olive oil and thyme roast potatoes.
4. The Butchershop
This Sauchiehall Street gem is one of the best places in the west end to grab a Sunday roast.
With the ala carte menu available all day, Sunday roasts are dished out between 12pm - 5pm.
One course costs £16 and two courses are on the menu for £19, and you can choose from dishes including chargrilled beef koftas, potted chicken liver parfait and beef salad to start.
The main event is a sliced roast sirloin of beef or a bone in Ayrshire pork chop.
They also have a 35-day dry aged roast rump of Scotch beef for two for £42 including appetisers.
5. Porter and Rye
These fine aged-meats specialists are one of the top draws for foodies across Glasgow.
Located in the heart of Finnieston, they offer an impressive selection of meats, wild and foraged food, seasonal cocktails and superior wine.

Their Sunday roasts are served up every week, with a menu running which offers two courses for £20 and three for £24.
This includes soup, a chargrilled Perthshire wood pigeon salad and the Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Desserts include a chocolate cremeux and cheddar selected by George Mewes.
6. Alston Bar and Beef
Dine underneath Glasgow Central Station and enjoy a classic Sunday roast at the Alston.
Serving up from 12pm - 6pm every Sunday, the roasts come on a one course menu for £13, and a two course menu for £19.
Promoting their significance in the history of this city, the eatery is located below the Gordon Street entrance of the station, in the underground arches.
Positioned in the area which formerly was home to Glasgow's forgotten village, Grahamston, you'll be enjoying good old fashioned food while you take it all in.

Choose from soup, pate, aubergine Teriyaki and a roast chicken or Tweed Valley main.
They also have 120 gins stocked too, if that perks up your Sunday plans, or you're after a curer.
7. Curlers Rest

It's hearty Sunday roast you get at this bustling Byres Road pub. Boasting golden brown Yorkies filled with gravy, perfectly cooked meat with sides of roasted veg, this is the ideal place to get your friends and family together for the best meal of the week
Catering to all tastes, they lay on beef, lamb and vegan and veggies specials every week, with prices ranging from £12.25 - £14.50 for mains, and £5.50 for puddings.
Choose from sirloin of beef, half roast chicken, nut roast and orange and whisky glazed gammon joints.
The usual menu is also offered and a sharing portion of the Sunday specials is on for £23.50.
8. Gather by Zique
They don't have a traditional roast menu but trust us, you won't mind. On offer at the Hyndland Street venue is delicacies including spiced white bean hummus, roast carrots, harissa and dukka, cod fillet and porchetta with grilled pear.
Two courses will cost you £19 and three are available for £23, serving from 12pm - 4pm every week.
9. The Grill on the Corner
Located on Bothwell Street, just two minutes from Glasgow Central, this city centre eatery has undergone a refurb recently - so you'll be in stylish surroundings!
This is one of the finest spots for steaks in the city centre and a brilliant place to watch the world go by - a perfect activity on a lazy Sunday.
Serving from 12pm until they run out, you can choose from rare topside of beef, roast chicken or roast pork with crackling.
A sharing beef board is also available for £25.96.
10. Wee Lochan
Family and pooch friendly, this Broomhill favourite is always mobbed on a Sunday.
With two courses on offer for £17.95 and three for £20.95, there's lots on offer including fishcakes, twice baked parsnip souffle and tiger prawn spring rolls to start, and roast sirloin of beef, loin of pork, warm tartlet of woodland mushroom and sole for mains.
Wee ones get to choose smaller portions of adult meals.
11. Church on the Hill

Serving to the southside from 12pm until they run out, Church on the Hill prides itself on its traditional pub grub, and commitment to local suppliers.
The Algie Street team change the specials weekly, but they always serve up with seasonal greens, Yorkshire puddings and other trimmings.
Oh, and they also run a Bloody Mary filling station on a Sunday too - bonus.
