A mum has told how she is forced to spend all day in shopping centres to keep warm because of rocketing fuel bills.

Margaret Morris, 51, hasn’t switched on the heating on in her home in Haghill in the east end of Glasgow in the last four years.

She lives there with her 21-year-old disabled son Scott.

Ukrainians living on Scots cruise ship say it 'is better than we could have dreamed'

Ukrainians living on a cruise ship in Edinburgh have said it is 'better than we could have dreamed'. Earlier this month the first refugees began to arrive onto the ship docked at Leith.

The MS Victoria passenger ship aims to host 700 Ukrainians and provide cabins, food, and shelter for families displaced due to the war in their motherland.

The vessel was commissioned by the Scottish Government to be used until January 2023.

Young man stabbed in Glasgow street attack as cops hunt hooded thug

A young man has been stabbed in a terrifying attack on a street in Glasgow.

Police have launched a manhunt after the incident happened on Dyke Road, near the junction with Killoch Drive, in Knightswood at around 9am on Saturday July 23. Officers received a report that a 23-year-old had been stabbed on the street.

Ambulance crews attended and the man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Police are appealing for information following the serious assault.

Five alleged victims of former SNP council leader Jordan Linden accuse youth charity boss of failing to protect them

Five young men who claim to have been groomed, harassed or assaulted by Jordan Linden have accused a youth charity boss of failing to protect them.

The men, who were all members of the Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) or had links with the organisation’s projects, claim they were let down in 2016 when allegations emerged about his conduct while chairman.

One of the alleged victims was just 14 when he claims Linden sent him semi-nude images and sexual messages.

Man fighting for life after being knocked down as cops close Edinburgh road for six hours

A man is fighting for his life after being knocked down on a road in Edinburgh.

Emergency services scrambled to Colinton Road, near Napier University, after the accident happened at around 10.30pm on Saturday July 30. A 35-year-old man had been struck by a black Mercedes-Benz A Class car on the road.

Ambulance crews attended and the pedestrian was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment. His condition is described by medical staff as critical.
