Sunak: AI risks could be similar scale to pandemics & nuclear war - Tech & Science Daily podcast

Elon Musk is set for Downing Street talks with Rishi Sunak today following the AI safety summit. It’s after the Prime Minister said “we can’t be certain” about the risks of artificial intelligence, but there is a possibility they could be on a similar scale to pandemics and nuclear war. The PM went on to reassure the public that the government is taking action to ensure our safety.

Scientists say relics of an alien planet might be under our feet. Researchers believe that a “protoplanet” named Theia collided with Earth some 4.5 billion years ago - and the collision tore off part of our planet which then went on to form the Moon. They also think that some pieces of Theia stayed around and may have been buried deep within the mantle of Earth.

Nasa astronauts conduct the 4th-ever all-female spacewalk. It was the first spacewalk for the two crew members who exited the International Space Station to carry out science research and station maintenance. They were tasked with removing radio communications gear and swapping hardware that enables the orbiting lab’s solar arrays to track the Sun.
