Sun Mountain 2024 H2NO Litespeed Stand Bag Review

Sun Mountain 2024 H2NO Litespeed stand bag review.

Sun Mountain has been a brand well known for making some of the best golf bags in the game and is perhaps most well known for its fully waterproof H2NO series. The range, plus some new models outside the H2NO series, has been given a full refresh for 2024 to include new colourways and patterns as well as some key new pieces of technology. Having used the 2024 H2NO Litespeed now for over a month during some very soggy conditions, I'm excited to share why this might be one of the best lightweight fully waterproof stand bags money can by.

All bags in the H2NO series utilise what I believe to be some of the best materials you can get on the best waterproof golf bags right now. Indeed, the fabric is given a waterproof treatment on both sides and have seamed seals making it impossible for water to penetrate through the bag and wet whatever is inside. When you're in the market specifically for the best waterproof golf bag, it all starts with making sure the materials and craftsmanship is such that water cannot permeate. Those living in the UK will know how wet it has been for the last six months and my experience testing the H2NO Litespeed has been during some truly wet weather over the last few weeks. I can happily report that the waterproof fabrics live up to the billing, giving ultimate peace of mid for those play if often wet or changeable conditions.

The new Litespeed - as is in the name - is also incredibly lightweight. At 2.3kg (just under 5lbs) it barely makes an impression on your back, even when with a full set of clubs and all the extras. This sensation of ease when carrying is bolstered by the new bubble design hip pad and the X-strap system, which combine to sit nicely on the shoulders and make sure there is no annoying or uncomfortable knocking around while you're walking.

The pockets throughout the bag are well proportioned. The hydration sleeve in particular is large enough to fit even the biggest water bottle or flask while the fleece-lined valuables pocket has a divider in the middle, a really classy touch that means you can keep your key separate in that pocket so as to avoid scratching your phone. The way the pockets are laid out proves that it has been designed by golfers.

The embroidery is a really nice added feature to the bag.   (Image credit: Future)

As part of the new range of bags, Sun Mountain has also introduced a high quality embroidery service on the ball pocket of the bag for a small extra fee. These kind of embroidery services have often only been available for club cresting, but now Sun Mountain have opened up this customization to single bags for names or company logos. You can see I've proudly got my name and Golf Monthly logo adorned to the ball pocket of my bag.

Overall this is one of the most complete and well thought out stand bags I've tested recently. The attention to detail is excellent and if a lightweight build and waterproof materials are top of your list for your next stand bag, I wouldn't recommend looking much further than the H2NO Litespeed. If this one isn't quite for you, a quick look at the other options in the H2NO range offer slightly larger club dividers or even a 14-way divider if you prefer.
