Together: Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams
When the rumours about Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams surfaced, a pained wail sounded from across London. Like the Twilight Bark in 101 Dalmatians, except it was coming from every sub-40 single woman in the city limits. The budding relationship between the Irish actor and American singer songwriter (and daughter of Star Wars and Star Trek director JJ Abrams) seems to have been confirmed this week, as the pair were seen holding hands walking around London ahead of a date to go and see Mitski at All Points East. How very... normal of them.
Over: Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan
Well, that’s that me depresso. It was leaked to gossip site Deux Moi this week that summer fling to rule all summer flings, aka the strange bond between Barry Keoghan and Sabrina Carpenter, had officially splintered. While neither party has publicly commented on the potential split yet, the pair have been noticeably separate for the past few weeks, and Carpenter has stopped slipping in innuendos about him into her “Nonsense” song outros, which she routinely customises per performance. That’s how you soft launch a breakup these days.
Together: Doja Cat and Joseph Quinn
Wow, two years ago is calling and wants its headline back. In case you forgot, Doja Cat got into some very public beef regarding Stranger Things stars Joseph Quinn and Noah Schnapp around the Netflix series' season four release in 2022. It all went down after Doja messaged Schnapp to ask if his fellow cast member Joseph Quinn was single, only for Schnapp to publicly post her DM to the world, embarrassing Doja. The pair fought for a while on the public stage and Quinn remained silent throughout the whole palava.
However, two years and one breakup (between Doja Cat and J Cyrus earlier this year) later, and now Quinn and Doja are finally fulfilling their destiny. The pair have been spotted cosying up around London over the past few days. Take that, Noah Schnapp!
Over: Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury
What a mess this Love Island love story is becoming. Last week, influencer and former Pretty Little Thing creative director Molly-Mae Hague announced that her and Tommy Fury were over. Quits. Kaput. But it was the kind of statement that only fuelled rumours, rather than dispelling them. Since then, cheating claims have repeatedly arisen over Fury’s head, and a skip has appeared outside the pair’s joint property in Manchester, suggesting a pretty major clear out. Love is dead, yada yada. Except... is it?
Together: Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner
Who would have thought, hey? Not me! Timmy and Kylie are still going strong after a reported year and three months of dating, which means it’s not exactly a summer 2024 romance, but given that we all thought they’d be over by now, I’d definitely declare them victors of the 2024 romantic season. Chalamet and Jenner were most recently spotted disembarking from Jenner’s private jet after her birthday trip to the Bahamas with friends and family. A source told People: “It was a nice break for her. She’s incredibly happy with him. She’s never been in love like this before. He’s great for her...Her family loves him. He’s so discreet and always has her back. He’s very much a gentleman and everything that Kylie deserves.”
Over: Taylor Russell and Harry Styles
Early 2024’s cutest couple have fallen victim to the end of summer curse! That’s right, Bones and All actress Taylor Russell and Lime bike enthusiast Harry Styles are no longer together, after a whirlwind few months where they appeared inseparable earlier this year. Styles is already rumoured to have moved on, having been spotted recently with up and coming singer Olivia Dean. Which could mean nothing.
Together: Jason Momoa and Adria Arjona
After breaking up with Lisa Bonet in 2022, Jason Momoa quickly became one of Hollywood’s hottest bachelors. But he’s off the market again, this time apparently thanks to Hit Man breakout star Adria Arjona. There’s some funny layers to this coupling, too: Arjona is one of the main stars of Blink Twice, the directorial debut from Zoë Kravitz, Lisa Bonet’s daughter. So this year, Kravitz has been busy directing her mum’s ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend. Fun!
