Packing for holidays can be stressful, especially when pristine clothes can end up crumpled.
One Reddit user claims to have found a wrinkle-free method that is much more practical for packing up your suitcase.
While many struggle to fill their suitcases, this user claims that their method gives you more space and it also causes less wrinkling than typical folding methods.
The user, who is called MysteryMeat101, suggested a method that is also hailed by television star and lifestyle guru Marie Kondo, the Express reports.
The method involves folding your clothes in a pile - and it will allow you to organise and pack more quickly.
In fact, the user claims that their packing for a week can be carried out in just a few minutes with this method.
The Reddit user explains: "I stopped rolling and folding and my clothes are less wrinkled when I arrive and I can carry more in the same space."
Not only does the hack fit more clothes into your bag, the user also says it makes the packing process much faster."
They said: "I can pack for a week in just a few minutes.
"I packed this way for my first trip to Europe and was able to pack five days' worth of clothing, two pairs of shoes, non-liquid make-up and toiletries (travel size) in an international-sized carry on.
"I thought it sounded idiotic when I read it, but it worked for me."
How to do the folding method
To do the "folding" method, you must fold your clothes in a sort of "pile".
They explained: "I lay the first item on the bed or floor.
"Then I lay the next item rotated 90 degrees on top of that.
"I keep rotating 90 degrees and layering until I have everything in a pile.
"I finish with my underwear and socks on top in the middle.
"Then I fold all four corners and shove it in my suitcase."
Marie Kondo showed off a similar method in a 2019 Netflix TV Show, saying: "Because I fold my clothing using the KonMari Method, it’s easy for me to pack quickly the day before I travel – which is usually the case since I travel often.
“Not only does this folding technique keep clothing neat and wrinkle-free, it also maximises the space of the suitcase.”
She also said that she packs vertically instead of horizontally save space.
This means she stands her clothes side by side, in soldier style, as opposed to sandwiches alongside each other horizontally.
