A luxurious Palm Spring-style waterfront home at Lake Macquarie's Bolton Point has smashed the suburb's residential sale record.
The sale price, which is undisclosed, is believed to have reached a little over the $3 million asking price.
The sale beats the previous suburb record of $2,675,000 paid for 18 Wattle Street in November 2020.
Agents Laura and Daniel McMahon from Home in the Hunter said the property at 8a Wattle Street attracted strong interest throughout the four-week campaign, with 10,000 views of the listing's video online and 228 enquiries.
The renovated three-level home drew interest from Newcastle, the Hunter region and Sydney before it was sold via private treaty to a local buyer.
"A suburb record is exciting at any time but particularly in this market, it is very special," Mr McMahon said.
"More than half of the interested buyers were from out of the area with a large proportion coming from Sydney's Northern Beaches and Sutherland Shire."
The 18-month transformation was undertaken by owners Harmony Proctor, an interior designer, and her builder partner Dwayne Walker who began renovating the original 1980s home at the start of 2020.
Inspired by the Three Birds Renovations team, the luxurious home boasts seven bedrooms, three bathrooms, a pool and more than 20 metres of water frontage with views across Lake Macquarie.
"It was their first renovation and their coastal-style finishes resounded very strongly with buyers,' Mr McMahon said.
