The world’s best cyclists will race in Paris this summer, not at the Tour de France or Tour de France Femmes but for Olympic gold on the roads of the capital, on the Paris velodrome and on the mountain bike and BMX tracks.

Following their Tour de France exploits, Tadej Pogačar and Remco Evenepoel will also race in Paris but face strong opposition in the prestigious road race from  Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert and many others though in the 275km road race that is akin to a Spring Classic.

Demi Vollering, Lotte Kopecky, and Lorena Wiebes will lput their pro team friendships to one side as they vie to deliver for their respective nations in the 158km women's road race.

The time trial are the first road events on August 27, with the road races a week later on August 3 and 4.

Some riders will compete in the time trials as a warm-up for the road races, while specialists like Filippo Ganna will go on to race on the track.

All eyes will be on home favourite Pauline Ferrand-Prévot in the women's mountain bike race as she makes a final bid to become Olympic champion before calling time on her fat tyre career. Tokyo mountain bike gold medalist Tom Pidcock headlines a quality field in the men’s event.

Track racing is an Olympic stalwart, having been present at every modern Games apart from the 1912 edition in Stockholm. Six events offer a chance to win a gold medal on the track, with Italy looking to defend their success in the men's team pursuit and defeat Great Britain in the women's team pursuit.

We will bring you around-the-clock coverage, with race reports, interviews, news and  analysis of all the action from the road, mountain biking, and track events at the Olympic Games.
