With the cost-of-living crisis continuing to cause concern and house prices going through the roof in Ireland, have you ever dreamed of upping and moving to a sunny destination?
For those looking to chase that dream, an apartment right next to the beach in Spain might not be as out of reach as it seems.
There are many different types of accommodation you can buy in Spain and €300,000 can go a lot farther and secure much higher quality accommodation than in Ireland.

According to Galway Beo, a stunning Spanish apartment with views of a world famous beach is the same price as a three-bed house in Ireland.
Here's what a €300,000 property looks like in Alicante versus in Galway.
Alicante, Spain
Alicante has long been a favourite destination for Irish tourists looking to get some much needed vitamin D, whether that's tourists there for just a week, or those willing to fork out to buy an apartment in the area.
In Alicante, you could live the life of luxury in a two-bed apartment overlooking Almadraba beach that comes with two bathrooms, an open-plan kitchen, and a living/dining room.
Each apartment also includes an underground parking spot and a store room. The Bella Beach apartments include air conditioning and heating and a fitted kitchen with oven and microwave, vitro-ceramic hob, and extractor fan.
Prices for this size apartment start at €290,000 and they are estimated to be completed in June 2024. You can find more information about the development here.
Galway, Ireland
If the sun isn't for you, or you want to stick closer to home, a three-bed detached house in Maam's Cross in Galway is available to buy for €295,000.
The two-storey home sits on over two acres of land and is in an ideal location in Connemara. The property has undergone extensive renovations in recent times, including a full upgrade of all electrics, plumbing, re-roofing and new windows throughout.
It also comes with two bathrooms and the full details of the property can be seen here.
