A wildlife fan has shared the unforgettable moment she was able to catch a pod of orcas frolicking in the water off the Aberdeenshire coast.
Anita M Crook posted the incredible photos in the Caithness and Moray Firth Cetacean Sightings Group (CAMFCS) on Facebook.
The Marine Mammal Medic was at Kinnaird Head, Fraserburgh on May 21 when the pod was spotted, reports Aberdeen Live.
As well as dorsal fin and tail fluke shots, she was lucky enough to then snap them playing in the water, with one of the adults leaping athletically into the air, exposing its pure white stomach for the camera.
The volunteer for the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) was blown away by the experience, even though she has snapped the animals on more than one occasion.
Stating that for once she was "pretty much absolutely speechless", she wrote: "Here are a few of my own Orca captures from Fraserburgh, made possible by the dedication and support of a good few folks.
"This day will be with me for a very long long time.
"Personally I am overwhelmed by the beauty and power of these amazing animals we are fortunate enough to have visit our coastal area."
She then thanked fellow CAMFCS members for their help in capturing the magical moment.
The pod has been spotted near the Aberdeenshire coast on a number of occasions over spring, with the group regularly sharing snaps of the majestic marine mammals.
Other users thanked her for sharing the breathtaking snaps.
One wrote: "Absolutely incredible photos, what dreams are made of."
While another added: "Stunning simply stunning Anita. I’m thrilled you all got to see them. What a fantastic week or so."
