Stunning Glasgow mansion named finalist in BBC's Scotland's Home of the Year

A stunning Glasgow mansion has made it as a finalist on BBC's Scotland Home of the Year show.

The popular property show has narrowed it down to six stunning homes across Scotland with finalists also located in Edinburgh and the Isle of Skye.

The Glasgow finalist is Kirklee Mansion - an Edwardian renovation in the city's west end. Originally three separate townhouses, the impressive property is now split to form single-level apartments with the mansion sitting on the first floor.

The homeowners spent many days and nights restoring it to its former glory, maintaining key architectural details throughout.

Home to Jason, John and their Dalmatian, Mitzi Belle, their gorgeous home is situated in the Lowther Terrace in Kelvinside with the pair saying they living in a "very social home".

They said: "While built in the Victorian era (early 1900s), the space has now been designed (2017) for enjoying time with others, while retaining all the original and grand features of the stately townhouse it was.

"Externally it feels like it belongs more in Cadogan Square or Holland Park Road in London with grand mansions sitting on tree-lined terraces. The original townhouse (No.9) is strongly Jacobean Renaissance in style, with elaborately shaped gables, pilasters and turrets.

You can watch the final on Monday (June 26) on BBC One Scotland at 8.30-9.00pm.
