Stunning footage shows pod of dolphins swimming close enough to touch next to boat

Amazing footage has been shot of a pod of dolphins swimming close to a boat off the coast of Pembrokeshire.

The scene was captured by Kelly Rees and her husband Dean who own DR Marine and are regularly out on the seas around the Welsh county.

It shows a number of dolphins diving in and out of the water and swimming close enough to the boat to touch. Because the sea surface is so still, the dolphins can be seen very clearly beneath the water as they shoot along, occasionally rising to the surface. Kelly said: "I was out on our own boat with my husband Dean Rees we were three miles out of Manorbier when we spotted them, there were a few pods out but these ones really put a show on. We own DR Marine so are out on the Pembrokeshire coast often, but we have never seen anything like this before in UK seas."

Dolphins are regular visitors to the Welsh coast and are occasionally filmed swimming close to boats. Amazing video was shot earlier this month of a bottlenose dolphin leaping from the water off New Quay in Ceredigion. You can see that here. And in June beautiful footage was shot of dolphins swimming beside a boat off the coast of Gower. That's viewable here.
