A stunning cruise liner that holds almost 1,000 passengers docked in Liverpool this morning
The Viking Mars, a smaller vessel than your average cruise liner, docked in Liverpool this morning as part of a 26-day journey which began at Reykjavik, Iceland last month. The Viking Mars, which carries 930 passengers and roughly half that number in staff, will end it's voyage in London on Tuesday, September 13.
After staying in Liverpool for the day, the vessel will next set down its anchor in Dublin and then Dover before it reaches its final destination next week. Since beginning its cruise on Thursday, August 18, the Viking Mars has since visited sights in Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Norway before it reached the British Isles on the first of this month.

The vessel was only named months ago, on Wednesday, May 18, during a naming ceremony in Malta, where it was christened by Lady Fiona Carnarvon, 8th Countess of Carnarvon. It took its inaugural voyage later that month, setting sail from Barcelona to Bergen on May 28.
The Viking Mars, though smaller than most cruise ships still weighs almost 50,000 tonnes and boasts an impressive layout, including a hair salon, gym, multiple restaurants, a large Nordic spa and nine decks in total available for guests. Every room that can be booked on the vessel has a balcony also, perfect for spotting some of the greatest sights in the world, like the Liver Birds.
