Tommy Fury has been mocked by fans for taking his shirt for his first face to face with Jake Paul.
Love Island star Fury will meet Paul over eight rounds at a 185lb catchweight on February 26 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The rivals were first scheduled to fight in December 2021 but Fury pulled out of the fight due to a chest infection and broken rib. A second meeting was booked between them last August, but US visa issues prevented Fury from travelling and the fight was cancelled again.
'The Problem Child' made the trip across the Atlantic to face-off with Fury in the ring at the Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde fight in London this past weekend. The pair had to be separated as they pushed each other during a fiery face-off and fans were left puzzled by Fury's decision to take his shirt off before the staredown.

"I’m still trying to figure out why Tommy Fury took his shirt off before stumbling and mumbling around the ring," one user wrote. "So apart from a splendid night of boxing. Why doesn’t Tommy Fury seem to own a shirt?" another added before a third wrote: "I’m still wondering why Tommy Fury is in the ring with no shirt on?" A fourth user commented: "Why did Fury have his shirt off, was it a weigh-in?"
The previous fight cancellations has led to Paul organising a back-up fighter in the form of Mike Perry, in case Fury pulls out for the third time. Perry fought 15 times for the UFC but parted ways with the promotion in 2021 after a string of recent losses. The 31-year-old, who recently claimed he signed a contract to fight Paul, crossed over to bare-knuckle boxing after his UFC exit where he is unbeaten in two professional fights.
Whilst trading words with Fury in the ring, Paul slammed his opponent for facing several journeymen on his road to eight professional wins. "He's fought taxi drivers, he has no chin, it's all a joke. I'm ending you February 26th and you already know it. You're going to crack under this moment, you're not built for this moment," Paul said.
Fury also insisted that Paul's boxing career will be over after their fight as he replied to his rival's threat: "I was beating better people than you when I was 14 in the amateurs., whilst you were messing around on Disney channel so don't come here pretending you're about it when you're not. I am not an MMA fighter, I will school you."
