The Pittsburgh Steelers hit a new low on Sunday in a 24-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals came into the game at 2-10 and the Steelers were 7-4. But the two teams played like the records were reversed and it really does make you wonder if this Steelers team is as good as the wins or are as bad as these losses.
Here are this week’s studs and duds.
Stud - EDGE T.J. Watt
T.J. Watt was injured late in the game when the outcome was already decided which just added insult to literal injury for a guy who played hard all game long and was highly productive.
Dud - S Miles Killebrew
The Steelers special teams ace was awful on Sunday. He ended up with three penalties which is completely out of character for Killebrew but seemed to be the theme of the day for the Steelers.
Stud - WR George Pickens
It was great to see wide receiver George Pickens out there making some plays before the wheels fell off the offense completely. Pickens finished with 86 receiving yards on just four catches.
Dud - C Mason Cole
There might not be a position in greater need of an upgrade than center on offense. Mason Cole had two huge botched snaps on Sunday and really struggled with pass protection yet again.
Stud - RB Jaylen Warren
The run game looked really good early on and Jaylen Warren was a big part of it. Warren finished with 59 yards on only nine carries and continues to be the most dynamic player on the offense while staying underutilized.
Dud - CB Joey Porter Jr.
Joey Porter Jr. got called for yet another offensive pass interference on Sunday that helped the Cardinals put points on the board. Overall the pass offense was sound but we want to see more maturity and solid technique from Porter.
Stud - RB Najee Harris
Like Warren, Najee Harris came to play. Harris had 16 carries and led the team with 63 yards rushing. It was unfortunate Harris’ effort couldn’t have been rewarded by better play elsewhere.
