Stuart Dallas stretchered off against Man City as Leeds United dealt yet another injury blow

Leeds United suffered yet another injury blow during the first-half against Manchester City, when Stuart Dallas was taken off on a stretcher. Dallas came off worse from a late challenge on City’s Jack Grealish in first-half stoppage-time, before being taken off the pitch on a stretcher.

The Northern Ireland international had been part of a hard-pressing Leeds effort during the opening 45 minutes, as Jesse Marsch's side took the game to the much-fancied visitors. Dallas had already committed five fouls beforehand, with the City winger showing his frustration and having to be calmed by manager Pep Guardiola.

Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville instantly feared the worst over the injury.

“He’s hurt. He’s really hurt here” Neville said during the injury break.

“It was madness from Dallas he has been flying into challenges. He’s been going for it all match, he’s competitive. The stretcher's on.

“To lose Cooper and Dallas is a big blow for Leeds. He’s a big player for Leeds and so consistent.

“It’s not a good one this for Dallas, it’s not a good one. His teammates are very concerned.”

Leeds went into half-time 1-0 down after a Rodri header from a free-kick, but responded well and rushed City into mistakes. Dallas’ aggression was typical of Jesse Marsch’s ‘pesky’ style of play, with the White hustling and harrying all over the pitch.

Dallas looks set for a spell on the sidelines, while the injury came after skipper Liam Cooper limped out of the warm-up with what looked to be a knee issue, in another blow to Leeds' battle against the drop.
