Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that Stuart Dallas will be a 'massive miss' to Leeds United after he picked up an injury in the 3-0 defeat at Everton.
The Northern Irishman limped off in the ninth minute at Goodison Park and it is understood that there is a degree of severity about his problem.
It seems unlikely that Dallas will be available to play against Manchester United this weekend, which would be a huge blow given his consistency and performances in recent years.
In actual fact, Dallas has played more minutes than any other outfield player since Leeds were promoted to the Premier League last summer, appearing in all 61 matches to date.
However, that trend could come to an end on Sunday and he has become an important member of the side, featuring in a number of positions.
Marcelo Bielsa has used Dallas in a midfield position, while he can also play at full-back or in a back five and his versatility has been crucial to the Whites' success.
And Robinson has criticised Leeds for their lack of business in the January transfer window, while praising the 30-year-old in the process.
"It’s a massive blow – a huge blow," Robinson told MOT Leeds News.
"He’s been Mr Consistent for Leeds for a number of seasons now. They haven’t got that many leaders on the field but he’s one of them. He’s outstanding wherever he plays and he’s going to be a massive miss.
"He’s another name on the list – Bamford, Cooper, Phillips, Firpo and now Dallas – they’re huge players. And once again it makes you scratch your head in disbelief as to why they didn’t bring anyone through the door in January.
"Staying in the Premier League is absolutely vital this season.
'Roll the dice, spend some money and take a gamble on staying in the best league in the world.
"They’ve left themselves in a real predicament due to how threadbare the squad is.
"It’s not just the squad that’s light, it’s the starting 11.
"Every week, Bielsa is patching up a starting 11, which shouldn’t be happening."
