Stuart Broad has expressed his sadness after a pub he part-owns went up in flames. The England and Nottinghamshire cricketer has also thanked the fire service and everyone for their support following the blaze - and promised "we will come out the other side".
Firefighters were called to the Tap and Run in the village of Upper Broughton at around 3.20am today (June 11). The roof and first floor of the building have been destroyed.
The fire service said the cause was believed to have been accidental and nobody was injured. Posting on Twitter tonight, Mr Broad said: "I couldn't believe the news this morning. Not sure I still can.

"Our wonderful pub caught fire in the early hours. Thankfully no one was hurt, the Nottinghamshire fire service were incredible in their efforts and thank you to the villagers for the wonderful support and sorry for the disruption.
"Thinking of our awesome staff today, every single person there has created a special pub for the community. It hurts right now but we will come out the other side."
The blaze came as Mr Broad was preparing to face New Zealand on day two of the second Test at Trent Bridge. Eight fire crews from Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire were at the scene at the height of the incident.
The pub was also co-owned by former Nottinghamshire star and seamer Harry Gurney. Mr Gurney issued a statement earlier in the day, saying: "We are obviously devastated but relieved that there was no loss of life.
"We are so sorry that we will be unable to honour any bookings for the foreseeable future and sorry for any distress that the fire has caused to villagers. We will keep everyone updated on social media in the coming days and weeks."
