A weather warning for wind has been issued by forecasters as gales could reach up to 75mph in certain areas in Scotland, providing potentially "dangerous" conditions.
The Met Office has said Wednesday, February 8 will be a "very windy day" especially for those living in parts of the Highlands and the Western Isles. The yellow warning, which was previously set to begin at midday, will last from 6am until 5pm.
The forecaster has warned that these strong winds may result in travel disruption on the roads, with other forms of transport like ferries and planes likely to face cancellations.
The forecaster said: "South to southwesterly winds will strengthen through Wednesday morning to bring a very windy day, with the strongest winds occurring during the afternoon.
"Gusts of 65-70mph are expected quite widely, with some gusts around 75mph especially during a period of squally rain which will cross the area during the afternoon. Winds will then ease considerably for a time, following the rain."
The experts also highlighted that these strong gales could bring "travel disruption and dangerous coastal conditions".

To ensure people are braced for the potentially disruptive weather, the Met Office has shared the following things to be aware of:
