An Adelaide strip club has reached a confidential out-of-court settlement with a dancer who mounted legal action over what she described as an exploitative work culture.
Luna* took the owners of strip club The Firm to the South Australian Employment Tribunal, alleging breaches of workplace health and safety laws.
She previously spoke to the ABC, alleging a colleague was sexually assaulted while performing a private dance at the club.
Luna said that after she raised concerns about the lack of safety measures — in an attempt to protect other dancers — she was abruptly dropped by the club.
State laws mean any sexual touching between a client and a stripper is a criminal offence and risks the club's licence to operate.
The club denies the allegations and has previously told the ABC it has considerable measures in place to protect performers.
"Any complaint involving sexual misconduct is taken seriously," The Firm said in a statement.
The club also said it passed a SafeWork SA inspection.
The matter has now been resolved out of court, but the terms of the settlement are confidential and cannot be revealed.
