Striking heron rescued by DSPCA after being found injured in Crumlin

An eye-catching heron was taken in by the DSPCA yesterday after it was found injured in Crumlin.

The bird caused a ruckus after he was first spotted stranded in the Dublin 12 area. The owner of Pips Cafe and Deli in Crumlin took to Facebook to enquire about the bird's wellbeing, reporting that its legs and wings appeared to be broken.

The DSPCA has since confirmed that they rescued the creature yesterday evening. The bird has survived his ordeal and remains at their base in Rathfarnham.
