Sydney Sixers captain Moises Henriques has won the toss and chosen to bat first in the BBL match against the Adelaide Strikers at Adelaide Oval.
The Strikers have been dealt a big blow with Matt Short, their in-form opening batter and opening bowler, sidelined with a low-grade quad strain. He has been replaced by Henry Hunt.
The Sixers have won their past seven against the Strikers and a victory on Monday would keep the men in pink in the hunt for top spot.
Justin Avendano has been named in the Sixers XI, coming in for Jordan Silk, who is out with a hamstring strain.
Veteran Steve O'Keefe, the destroyer in the Sixers' thumping derby win over the Sydney Thunder on Saturday, has been rested, replaced by fellow off-spinner Todd Murphy.
The Strikers are riding a three-game winning streak and can lock in a finals berth if they secure victory.
