Jonathan Afolabi is on trial with English League One club Forest Green Rovers as he looks for a new employer following time at Celtic.
The Irish youth international was brought to the club in 2019 from Southampton under Neil Lennon's management but has failed to make an impact at senior level. He was most recently out on loan at Scottish League One side Airdrie and previously had loans in the Championship at Ayr United, Dundee and Dunfermline. Now 22, the forward is out of contract.
Afolabi spent time on trial at Portsmouth earlier this month and they are reported as one interested suitor in his services. Now Gloucestershire Live report that league rivals Forest Green Rovers are also in the running. In his last spell at senior level, the Irishman netted three times in 15 Airdrie games but impressed several at the Excelsior Stadium with his important contributions as a team player towards the season's end.

He is one of several young players on the move from Celtic this summer, with Kerr McInroy, Karamoko Dembele and Brody Paterson also moving on.
In terms of incomings at Parkhead, senior boss Ange Postecoglou has signed Daizen Maeda, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, Alexandro Bernabei, Moritz Jenz and Aaron Mooy permanently.
They face Norwich City in a friendly this weekend and begin their Premiership campaign on July 31st versus Aberdeen.
