Strictly Come Dancing star Jayde Adams has spoken out about how women on the show ‘get it worse than men’ when it comes to comments from trolls on social media.
The 37-year-old comedian discussed the issue as she appeared on It Takes Two, following her exit from the BBC competition over the weekend. Sitting alongside pro dance partner Karen Hauer, Jayde opened up to host Rylan as she admitted that social media can be an “awful place”, The Mirror reports .
Jayde mentioned partner Karen and head judge Shirley Ballas as she pointed out that women on the show were targeted by unkind trolls more than their male co-stars. “Women specifically on this show get it in the neck [on social media],” she said.

“Whether it's me, whether it's Karen, whether it’s Shirley, the women get it worse than the men,” she added. Jayde made the comments days after calling out one viewer who left an unkind comment on Twitter.
After the viewer branded Jayde’s dancing skills ‘woeful’, the comedian screenshotted the comment and shared it to her Instagram page, writing: “Petition for Lea Roberts to learn a Charleston in 4 days and perform it in front of 9 million people.”
On It Takes Two, Jayde admitted that “For every horrible comment, there's a whole bunch of them that are lovely,” but agreed with Rylan when he said that the negative ones “stick with [you].”
“I just hope with my resilience I can show people that sticks and stones may break our bones but names will never hurt us,” she said. “I really hope that's something that I've left as a legacy.”
