Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton is putting the past behind her by selling the marital home she shared with now ex-husband Richie Myler.
A pal revealed the big move by the 39-year-old Strictly star and mum of three. The source said: “Helen has moved on with her life and feels it’s time to start with a clean slate.
“She’s put the house they shared on the market and is looking for a new place she can move to with the kids in the coming months.”
In April last year, four months after the birth of their daughter, Helen announced on Instagram that she and England and Leeds Rhinos rugby league star Richie, 33, had split up.
He has since gone on to have a baby with new girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill, 32, daughter of Rhinos president Andrew.
Former Blue Peter presenter Helen and Richie married in 2013 and moved into their Yorkshire pile seven years later. At the time she said in a magazine interview that the “quirky” property made her “heart sing.”
She revealed: “I kept sneaking back to see it. I knew there was no one living there.
“We looked at other houses but they didn’t have that special something. This one did.”
The couple did a series of renovations at the property but things ground to a halt last year when Helen announced the rugby star had left their family home.
Months later she appeared on Celebrity Yorkshire Auction House and announced that she had sold “a load of stuff”.
Now it seems Helen, who was a runner-up in Strictly Come Dancing with professional partner Gorka Marquez last year, is off-loading the house itself.
Good for her for moving on. We can’t say we blame her. But with sons aged eight and six and an 18-month-old daughter, it can’t be easy.
