Debbie McGee has revealed she would love to find a man like Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney to share magic moments with.
The 64-year-old, who was married to the late magician Paul Daniels for 28 years, said she turned into a “silly, giggly girl” when she met the actor.
And adding that George, 61, “had it all” in terms of what she looks for in a man, she said their chat made her realise she was ready to find romance again.
Referencing George’s TV coffee ads, Debbie said: “If George asked me if I fancied a Nespresso … I would, yeah.
“If he didn’t have his looks, he would still be unbelievably attractive as he’s just got this wonderful personality. He’s charming. He’s probably one of the nicest people I’ve ever met – and I only had a 10-minute conversation with him.
“But I think he thought I was a silly, giggly girl because I got nervous when we spoke.”
Debbie added: “I hope I meet someone because I love company and I like spoiling people. It is lovely to just go out and have a chat with somebody or a drink.
“But if it doesn’t happen, I have so many friends and family I adore, and who seem to adore me.”
Debbie was best known as the “glamorous assistant” to Paul, who died of a brain tumour in 2016, aged 77.
She took part in Strictly in 2017 and will be in BBC Two’s B&B By the Sea next month.
And she says she has grown in confidence over the years. Debbie said: “When I was younger, I was never very good at [networking]. But I’m very good at it now because I’m not scared of going up to a stranger and talking to them.
“Until I did Strictly, I felt too overwhelmed to speak to famous people.
“But people would treat me differently after that because they realised I wasn’t just a magician’s assistant… there was a lot more to me.”
■B&B By the Sea starts at 6.30pm on April 10, on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer. Debbie’s episode airs on April 21
