Strictly's Tony Adams says he's quit dancing 'for good' – but is eyeing up new career move

Tony Adams has revealed he has hung up his dancing shoes ‘for good’ – but is hoping for more TV appearances in the future.

The football legend quit Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday after a ‘dodgy knee’ meant he couldn’t carry on in the competition with partner Katya Jones.

But after receiving a positive reaction from fans following his stint on the BBC show, he is hoping to grow his celebrity status further.

And he has told pals he would be open to appearing on more reality shows, including I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Tony was joined by former King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp at a recent preview for the upcoming World Cup.

Asked if he was headed for I’m A Celeb, he told The Sun : “That’s it, I’m on my way. What do you think, Harry?”

Harry, who won the series in 2018, quipped back: “Oh absolutely. They’ll pay you a million quid.”

While we don’t know what Harry got paid for his stint on the ITV show, it is reported Boy George is the highest paid star to ever enter the jungle.

It is thought the Culture Club singer is receiving at least £500,000 for his appearance, but some outlets claim it is as high as £900,000.

Tony made the decision to quit Strictly when he and Katya were set to face Tyler West and Dianne Buswell in the dance off.

But he was unable to perform due to an injury he sustained during the live show on Saturday night.

Explaining what had happened to shocked viewers, host Tess Daly said: “Due to an injury sustained on Saturday night, Tony is unable to take part in the dance off and has decided to withdraw from the competition.

“This means there will be no dance off tonight and Tyler and Dianne are through to Blackpool."

Tony has hinted he could follow pal Harry Redknapp into the jungle (ITV)

Opening up about his journey on the show, Tony shared it was ‘hard work’ but in the end he had to listen to medical advice.

He said: “It was interesting learning a new skill in that amount of time, but it was really scary. You should see the outtakes from my first dance actually. It was frightening.”

“I’m hanging up my dancing shoes for good,” the 56-year-old added.
