Strictly's Tony Adams and Katya Jones swerve 'spat' but admit she shouted 'focus' at him

Strictly duo Tony Adam and Katya Jones swerved discussing their apparent spat on Saturday evening, when they appeared on It Takes Two.

Tony and Katya appeared to be having a ‘heated argument’ during the closing moments of Saturday's live show as hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly were wrapping up the show.

The former footballer, 56, had made a string of mistakes during his Salsa and ended up at the bottom of the leaderboard with Katya, 33.

However while appearing on Strictly spin-off, It Takes Two, the pair didn't mention the apparent argument, with Tony focussing on how much he enjoyed the dance, and Katya speaking about the ex-footballer's hard work and positive attitude.

This morning the pair addressed the moment during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.

Hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls sat down with the Glitterball hopefuls in the ITV studio and outright asked them if they had been arguing.

With a slight smirk, Tony replied saying they ‘constantly argue’ as Katya interjected and joked: “Yeah we just don’t like each other at all. We don’t get on.”

Tony then added: “We’ve been two months together. She’s a genius. The routine she’s putting on is incredible.”

He then continued: “Sometimes, when I miss a step, she’s a little bit overcritical at times. I just want to have a good time, as well.”

Ed, who was previously partnered with the dance pro during his own Strictly stint, said: “She believes and always thinks you can do better.”

Tony looked slightly coy as he replied: “I think it’s about us between maybe letting me make a mistake and enjoy myself at times.”

This evening, It Takes Two host Jannette Manrara asked the pair how they found the dance.

As a screen played Saturday's routine, Tony replied: "It was great fun I think. I really enjoyed it. I am getting to the stage now I am looking at that and and I am thinking 'I didn't put her up there properly'.

"Week one I would have been going 'well I didn't didn't drop her'."

Jannette then asked how the dance had gone compared to rehearsals, with Katya saying: "It is the nature of the show. Rehearsals all week we really had it in the bag.

"For me what's more important is all week you were like 'Kat we have got this, I feel so confident', he went and gave it his absolute everything. And yeah a few steps might have got lost but rather have that than you have a fear of going wrong."

Tony then added: "I just saw the audience and I was like 'waaay'... she shouted at me actually, I missed a couple of steps, she went 'focus', and it did work this time."

"Week one I would have been away, I wouldn't have got it back together."
