Strictly's Tess Daly makes bold move as she reacts to show's big 'exit' news

Tess Daly revealed some surprising big news of her own, just as Strictly bosses broke their silence on this year's judging line-up, by revealing that she'd joined TikTok, in a move she wasn't sure her daughter would approve of.

Tess has been a presenter on Strictly Come Dancing since day one, hosting alongside showbiz legend Bruce Forsyth as the show launched on the BBC in the summer of 2004. She hosted alongside Sir Bruce for many years, before his death in 2017 and now viewers are used to seeing her in the ballroom alongside current co-star Claudia Winkleman.

While it's expected that both Tess and Claudia will be back on Strictly this year, someone who won't be is long-serving judge Bruno Tonioli. After days of speculation that he might be missing from the panel once again, Bruno addressed his absence on The One Show, saying: "The panel was so good last year and it worked, so I think they're going to be fantastic and they have all my support, but I miss the audience more than ever so hopefully we'll do something else."

Bruno spoke out after it was confirmed that American version Dancing With The Stars is making the switch from ABC to Disney+ to become the first live show to be on the streaming service. He explained that 'travel commitments' for that show made it "impossible," for him to be on Strictly as well.

Someone else quick to talk about the news that she, Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke would be back on the panel this year, was head judge Shirley Ballas, and host Tess broke her silence on matters, by commenting underneath Shirley's post to say: "We love you!"

On a night of big Strictly announcements, Tess had one of her own, that had nothing to do with the show. She took to her Instagram grid to announce that she had just joined TikTok. And predicting not everyone in her house would be a fan of that decision, she wrote: "My daughter will probably be mortified but I’ve joined @TikTok. Head on over to my stories or click the link in my bio to find my account!"
