Strictly's Sara Davies in tears and messes routine up as family go see her on live tour

Sara Davies was left in tears and messed up her routine after spotting her family in the audience of the Strictly Come dancing tour.

After becoming a real fan favourite on the BBC show, Dragons Den star Sara is now back on the dancefloor and on the road with professional partner Aljaz, performing a number of different dances every night to audiences all over the country.

The Strictly tour calls in closer to home for County Durham born entrepreneur Sara on Thursday, when it arrives for a two day run at the Utlita Arena in Newcastle.

But it was at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham that the 37-year-old was left an emotional wreck when she saw her nearest and dearest in the crowd at the weekend.

Taking to Instagram to reveal what happened, Sara, who topped the leaderboard during her time on Strictly, posted: "So my family all came to watch the show yesterday….. not gonna lie I was pretty emotional!

"I was so busy waving when I came out that I almost tripped over the mini satellite stage, then I missed the time on my steps and had to style it out and then I cried when I saw them and smudged my makeup….. but it was so bloody wonderful!"

Next to a series of pictures of her and various relatives, including her very proud mum and dad, Sara added: "The kids absolutely loved it, my mam and dad cried all the way through and my sister, hubby and brother in law just looked proud as pinch. Was an amazing experience!"

On Tuesday, Sara returned to Instagram to reveal that the Strictly team had to re-work the whole show after the tour moved to the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
