Strictly Come Dancing pro Nancy Xu joked she had no idea who she was dancing with on Saturday night, after seeing a change in her celebrity partner Will Mellor.
Actor Will pulled off an impressive performance last weekend, that sent him to the top of the leaderboard with huge scores for week one.
Judge Motsi Mabuse was on her feet and praising his hips, while Shirley Ballas was also impressed - along with viewers.
Will became emotional on Saturday as he dedicated the routine to his late father, and he couldn't believe the response to his moves.
On Wednesday, the star joined Nancy on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two with host Janette Manrara.
As Janette asked him about the performance and said how he just went for it, Will said it was either "sink or swim".
Repeating that he just wanted his kids to see him do well, as they watched from the live audience, he admitted he was still in shock by how well it all went.
But Nancy joked Will was a completely different person on Saturday night, to the celebrity partner she had been training with for the previous few weeks.
She confessed she had to question who she danced with on Saturday night, as it wasn't the Will she had rehearsed with in the training room.
Nancy quipped: "You were amazing. I don't know who I was dancing with on that Saturday night. I was like I've never seen this person before, I just don't know."
She joked again later on in the show, when asked if she expected the high scores: "No, I told you I have no idea who I was dancing with. I was like why are you doing this, I have no idea how!"
Speaking of his debut and going all in with the experience, Will explained: "Well you have gotta sink or swim. I am stood there, I've got my kids in the audience, I was terrified and then all of a sudden I thought, 'you've just gotta go for this and just give it everything I've got'.
"It's weird like an out of body experience, you've gotta take yourself out if it and sort of go into it."
Will said he found the performance "exhilarating" and "emotional", before adding his family were in tears.
He said: "My daughter was crying, my mum's on the phone crying, it was massive for my family."
Strictly's It Takes Two airs weeknights at at 6:30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
