Strictly's Molly Rainford says there's no curse this year as cast are 'very boring'

Molly Rainford has shaken off rumours of a Strictly romance, after she was linked with two stars from the dancing competition.

Reports were flying that the CBBC star, 21, had grown close to Strictly pro Nikita Kuzmin and then fellow celeb Tyler West, but Molly said this season was "very boring" in terms of backstage romances.

It comes after reports that Molly and DJ Tyler were spotted 'getting close' at the Pride of Britain Awards party last month, while rumours have also swirled around Nikita and Molly, after they were spotted at the National Television Awards.

In the past, Molly has vowed to stay away from romance, declaring she wants to focus on her career.

When asked about the infamous so-called Strictly curse, Molly said: "It's so funny because everyone gets asked , 'oh what's the gossip? Who doesn't get on'' and I say, 'honestly it's everything they say about the Strictly family, we all get on really well'."

The star told Mail Online: "I just think it's so random, I love how people try to find it when it's not happening, it is quite funny, I think maybe because we get on so well they mistake for something else but it's genuinely that everyone is really really good friends."

When asked about the prospect of a behind-the-scenes romance, the Nova Jones star said: "No! We're a very boring series in that respect!"

A strictly insider told The Sun last month that "everyone on the show is talking about how flirty" Tyler and Molly are.

They added: "They’re both young and single and have really hit it off and so it feels like romance is on the cards. They always seem to be smiling and having a laugh."

However when he appeared on Lorraine, Tyler denied rumours of any romances going on behind the scenes, saying it was not on his mind right now.

"No, no, there's no time for any of that. Spending time with yourself, yeah, the best time right now," the radio presenter said.

Molly was quick to shoot down rumours of a potential romance, when she appeared on Good Morning Britain, after talked swirled about herself and Nikita.

She explained how tight knit the group was, saying: "Everyone is so close, we have Friday night takeaway, we're all chatting and the pros are so lovely. Even the new guys, everyone is amazing."

Charlotte then quizzed Molly if she or anyone else had become embroiled in a Strictly romance, to which Molly replied: "No, no I mean..."

As Molly continued to divert the topic, her professional dance partner Carlos Gu quickly interrupted to end the conversation, saying: "I think it's too early to talk about this."

It came after Molly and Nikita were said to have been flirting up a storm at the National Television Awards.
