Strictly's Matt Goss mobbed by fans in the street after brutal Shirley critique

Singer and music icon Matt Goss has seen an outpouring of support from fans since his Strictly Come Dancing debut.

The former 80s pop star, who formed Bros with his brother Luke, has been mobbed in the street by fans wanting to wish him well before his second Strictly performance.

Cutting a stylish figure in a smart coat, grey scarf and grey hat, Matt met with fans in London. The star accepted a bouquet of white roses from fans wishing him well before he takes to the Strictly dancefloor for the second performance of the series.

The star shared the touching moment on his Instagram with the caption, "My People".

He first stepped out to dance last Saturday to try his hand at quickstep opposite Strictly Come Dancing pro Nadiya Bychkova. However comments from judges including Shirley Ballas showed he had some learning and practising to do.

Head judge Shirley Ballas had told Matt: "You're beautifully groomed, you've got a lot of swag and you definitely have a lot of potential.

"But for me, it fell a little bit apart. I'm looking for something... Is it the feet? Maybe it's the knees? Maybe it's the body position? The frame got lost, you were moving, rattling a little bit between the two of you."

Her comments were echoed by Anton Du Beke, who told Matt he "looked like an unmade bed".

However Matt didn't take their comments easily. Speaking on It Takes Two, he and partner Nadiya hit back at the feedback on their first performance. Nadiya defended Matt's dancing, as she said: "I'm not a judge but I am a professional dancer and I think they were a bit harsh to be honest.

"It was Week One, Matt did all the steps right, the routine was quite full on. There was a lot of content, the quickstep is a very difficult dance and his musicality was just on point.

"Obviously he is a musician, but to actually do all the steps correctly, hit all the accents in 10 days of just rehearsing something new - I wouldn't be able to go on stage and perform like he does. And he did it in front if the millions."

Earlier this week saw Matt, share a behind the scenes look at his Strictly rehearsals alongside Nadiya. Speaking on his Instagram Matt revealed Strictly is 'starting to really make sense' to him despite leaving him 'exhausted'.

Addressing his 192,000 followers, Matt said: "Hi guys, I'm actually exhausted. I actually don't know if I have to go on eBay and buy a new pair of legs and shoes and feet and everything!"

He continued: "I mean every piece of me aches, I'm here with Nadiya," before panning the camera across to the 33-year-old blonde.

Matt then said: "We're doing well and it's starting to really make sense so I can't wait to show you on Saturday night, and hopefully I'll stay in the show and don't forget to vote team Mattiya!"
