Strictly's Kym Marsh shuts down claims of 'tension' with in-laws after they're spotted in audience

Kym Marah has shut down talk of a 'rift' between herself and her in-laws, after viewers claimed to have clocked an 'awkward' moment during Saturday's live show.

Former Hear'say singer and Coronation Street actress Kym has a had a rather rocky few weeks on the BBC show. She and her professional partner Graziano Di Prima started well, getting decent feedback and scores from the judges and, crucially, avoiding the dreaded dance-off. However, a week after Fleur East dropped into the bottom two, Kym and Graziano suffered the same fate, despite getting a high score for their samba.

The couple survived the ballroom axe, with Matt Goss being eliminated that week but, hopes of a triumphant comeback in the BBC's 100th Birthday special didn't quite go to plan as their end of show Quickstep to Sweet's Ballroom Blitz didn't live up to its billing, despite having Come Dancing icon Angela Rippon introduce it.

Kym looked crestfallen by the reaction and admitted to Strictly host Claudia Winkleman that she'd had a 'dodgy' day behind the scenes. Kym and Graziano were back on the dancefloor on Saturday for Halloween Week, scoring highly again for their rumba to Madonna's Frozen.

But as Kym was being interviewed, some people watching at come, claim to have spotted an 'awkward' look from Kym's in-laws, the parents of her husband Scott Ratcliffe. After Claudia asked if them being in the audience 'added to the pressure,' Kym replied: "Well yeah when I’m dancing like that with him," before Graziano then shouted out: "I love you Scott!"

Some fans took to Twitter after noticing Scott's parents expressions, with one writing: "Kym Marsh’s in-laws didn’t look too happy!" with viewer observations then turned into a story which hinted at 'tension' between the relatives.

Throwing cold water on those allegations, Kym shared the article on her Instagram and wrote: ""This has to be one of the funniest things I’ve read!! How about they weren’t aware the camera was even on them!!" She then added: "Good job we see the funny side."
