Kai Widdrington made a brief return to his former profession, right behind he returns to the ballroom for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Kai will be back on the smash hit BBC show for the third time in the autumn, having made his debut in 2021, making it all the way to the final, before disaster struck, when his celebrity partner AJ Odudu was injured in training, forcing the couple to watch from the sidelines as Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice took home the Glitterball trophy.
Much to the disappointment of viewers at home, Kai's stint in the Strictly ballroom was a very brief one, as he and Loose Women star Kaye Adams were the first coupe to be given their marching orders from the judges. After that setback, last year ended on a high for Kai when he triumphed in the Christmas special. alongside former Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell, with things that getting even better for the pro, when he and Helen Skelton were the overall winners of the Strictly live tour, having been paired together due to Gorka Marquez's absence.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Kai would be back for Strictly 2023 and he joined one of his fellow dancers for a change of scene on Sunday, with both him and Neil Jones taking part in a charity football match, in memory of The Wanted singer Tom Parker, who died last year, after a battle with terminal brain cancer.
The game was a return to his roots for Kai, son of former propfessional footballer Tommy, given that he too had a real passion for the beautiful game as child. In fact, Kai was all set to follow in his dad's footsteps by becoming a pro player, but at the age of 12 chose a dancing career instead of a Premier League contract.
