Strictly's Johannes cosies up to John Whaite as they wait for bus home after BAFTAs

Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe cosied up to co-star John Whaite as they waited for a bus home after the BAFTA TV Awards.

The professional dancer leaned his head on the Great British Bake Off winner's shoulders as they stood at the bus stop outside Royal Festival Hall in London.

Johannes had his arms wrapped around John as the baker comforted the exhausted dancer following an eventful night.

John, who has been in a relationship with graphic designer fiancé Paul Atkins since 2008, rubbed his close pal's shoulders to soothe him.

After a short time of waiting, the two ended up jumping in a black cab with other pals.

One picture showed the pair looking sleepy as they sat by each other on the bus bench.

The duo, unfortunately, didn't win a BAFTA this weekend as Strictly lost in the Entertainment Programme category to Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

It comes shortly after John along with the rest of the cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cinderella discovered the musical was axed.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star was expected to take up the role of Prince Charming in the show, but he released a statement to his Instagram explaining that will no longer be the case.

John's note was responding to the earlier news of the closure announcement and he penned on his Instagram Stories: "This is heartbreaking news for me because I was due to take the role of Prince Charming in July, but more so for the current cast, band and production who have battled through Covid to bring a brilliant new show to the stage.

"My heart goes out to each and every one of them.

"I was lucky enough to watch Cinderella in December 2021 and it was one of the most wonderful musicals I’ve seen in a long time."

He concluded his post, which included a headline of the closure announcement: "I was so excited to join the cast, and it was a lifelong dream come true, but sadly it isn’t to be right now.

"Who knows what the future will hold – I won’t lose hope."

The news broke on Sunday that the show at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in Covent Garden in London was to cease production.

Many of the cast and crew discovered the sad news online, causing an uproar among the stars and fans.
