Strictly's Jayde Adams unable to 'hold arm up' as rehearsals step up

Jayde Adams has told her social media followers about how hard she has been working this week, while trying to tease some praise out of her dance partner at the same time. The Bedminster comedian is preparing for her second dance on the show with professional Karen Hauer.

On Saturday's (October 1) live show, Jayde and Karen will be performing a Tango routine to Adele's Rumour Has It. Ahead of the show, they have been beavering away in rehearsals to get their moves right in order to impress the judges.

Throughout her Strictly journey so far, Jayde has been regularly updating her social media followers about how the practice is going. In on of her latest videos, Jayde explained she has been working so hard, she was unable to hold one of her arms up.

However, when trying to get a bit of praise from Karen, she found it hard to get any acknowledgment from her partner in a jokey manner. Rather than saying how she was doing, Karen instead took sips from a mug with a smile on her face, prompting Jayde to crack into laughter.

In the clip, Jayde explains "Um, had to come on this arm, because I actually can't hold my arm up because this one [Karen] behind me. She's been really putting me through my paces today.

She then goes onto ask Karen several times "how am I doing?". However, Karen does not crack and remains silent, although it is clear she is struggling to contain her laughter.

Eventually, the pair smile and let out a hiss, referring back to Emu impressions Karen has been doing this week in videos shared by Jayde on Instagram. Karen then playfully grabs Jayde's face and says: "Boop."

The duo have already become a favourite among fans of the show, who are loving the social media output. Other members of the Strictly team have also been sharing their love for Jayde and Karen's antics, with professional dancer Nancy Xu responding to the video with several crying with laughter emojis, saying: "You twoooo."

Singer Fleur East, one of this year's celebrity contestants said Jayde and Karen cracked them up. Meanwhile, Strictly pro Vito Coppola said: "Love u two ahahahah."

Strictly's second live show airs at 6.30pm on Saturday on BBC One. The first results show of the 2022 series will be on the following day at 7.15pm on the same channel.
