Jayde Adams was left in tears on Saturday night's Strictly Come Dancing after performing to a song that had a heart-breaking back story.
Comedian Jayde is one half on an all female partnership in the new series of the hit BBC show, dancing with pro Karen Hauer. The two have become real fan favourites after a real eclectic mix of songs, dancing a mean and moody tango to Adele's Rumour Has It to throwing things back to the 80s for Movie Week, with a routine to Flashdance anthem What A Feeling. Jayde has received plenty of positive comments from the Strictly judges to date and on Saturday evening, she had Shirley Ballas choking back tears, after performing to Bette Midler classic Wind Beneath My Wings.
It was the inspiration behind dancing to the classic ballad that made the whole thing massively emotional. In the VT that played out before she and Karen took the floor, Jayde explained that Bette was her and her sister Jenna's "most favourite musician," when they were growing up, saying that they had her CDs all over the house and made up dances to her songs. And, it was then that Jayde revealed the sad news that Jenna died 11 years ago, with Jayde saying: "I didn't just lose a sister, I lost a best friend, I lost a dance partner. Her telling me to make everyone laugh was my calling."

After Jayde and Karen performed a beautiful routine in front of the judges and studio audience, head judge Shirley looked visibly moved, thanking Jayde for a song that meant so much to 'anyone who's lost someone,' while Anton Du Beke said the performance transcended just being a dance, it became 'a moment.'
The couple received 31 for their dance and as Claudia Winkleman heaped praise on Jayde and Karen for doing Jenna proud, it all got too much for Jayde as she told Claudia that hearing her sister's name really got to her.
