Ex-Strictly star Jayde Adams has put out a casting call for "fresh, new and exciting talent" in Bristol ahead of filming her ITVX comedy. The comedian, who hails from Bedminster, is set to start shooting 'Ruby Speaking', a Bristol-based comedy which follows the misadventures of a call centre worker named Ruby.
Jayde is set to play the title role of the series, which was inspired by the years she spent working in a call centre, in addition to co-creating it. And there is a chance you could star alongside the comedian-turned-dancer in the series, as she has asked young budding actors to get in touch in the next few weeks, regardless of experience.
Posting the casting call to her Instagram page today (October 27), Jayde wrote: "Ere #bristol! My new series I’m creating with Yellow Door productions and @abiwilson.typist, set in a call centre in Brizzle #rubyspeaking starts filming in January and we’re putting the casting net out far and wide!"

Jayde added: "No experience necessary. Just get in touch with the details listed below to ruby@garrettcasting.com (not my DM’s) GERT LUSH MY BABBER."
The comedian, who was knocked out of Strictly Come Dancing last week, detailed in the casting call that they are searching for "fresh, new and exciting talent from Bristol between the ages 17-22 to audition" for roles in Ruby Speaking. No experience is necessary, and applicants are being asked to send their full name, location, and a recent photo to ruby@garrettcasting.com before Tuesday, November 22.
Ruby Speaking is due to be released on ITVX in 2023, with a specific release date yet to be nailed down. When it comes to what viewers can expect from the series, a description teases: "The Bristol-based series follows Ruby’s misadventures and is inspired by the years Jayde spent working in a call centre.
"Ruby is a popular addition to the workforce but puts other people’s problems above her own and definitely above making a sale."
